Signs Your ViewLux Door Installation Is Failing

• The door binds at the top corner in summer, then frees up in January. This is frame racking from seasonal expansion in the rough opening, common in North Palm Beach’s concrete-block construction where the lintel settles slightly. The gap between the frame and the block grows, and the door slab torques against the jamb.
• Daylight visible at the lock-side weatherstrip, or the sweep drags on the threshold. The composite sub-sill has dropped or the threshold screws have backed out. On Estate units, the integrated sill cannot be shimmed independently; the whole frame foot needs re-anchoring.
• The multipoint lock throws but the deadbolt won’t extend, or the handle set feels spongy. There is one safe check a homeowner can make: open the door to 90 degrees, grip the handle, and lift. If the slab moves vertically more than 1/16″, the hinge screws have loosened or the hinge mortise has compressed. Tightening the screws with a proper driver is reasonable. Everything else - frame shimming, sill pan installation, anchor selection for concrete block, and especially fire-rated assembly compliance - requires training. A misaligned frame voids the impact rating and the fire rating, and North Palm Beach building inspectors will red-tag an installation that doesn’t match the Florida Product Approval number on the label.
